The annual UN event "International Day of Forests" has, true to tradition, been celebrated with a week-long fundraiser here at Westpack. The purpose of the fundraiser was to raise funds for the planting of trees. We are happy to reveal that the campaign week has resulted in us donating 5365 trees - Thank you very much for your help.
The fundraiser took place in the period March 20 to March 27, and the concept was simple: we donated five trees for each order that our customers placed in our online store during the fundraiser.
The donation was completed on March 28., 2023, and now we would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for the overwhelming support! SO many customers placed an order and we got SO many positive messages on social media. We literally could not have done this without our amazing customers.

Where will the trees be planted?
The 5365 trees have been donated to a project in India focusing on planting fruit trees. According to OneTreePlanted, forest restoration could improve the lives of an estimated 275 million Indians, so supporting projects that counteract deforestation is a valuable cause. One of the things that OneTreePlanted excels at is involving the local communities. This is also the case in India, where they work with communities in 12 out of the 28 Indian states.
Who will plant the trees?
We work with One Tree Planted, a non-profit organization that has focused on re-establishing forests around the world since 2014. In 2022, they planted more than 52,000,000 trees in 74 countries. That equates to more than 97,000 acres of restored forest. The organization collaborates with local people who are responsible for selecting, growing and planting the trees.
About the International Day of Forests
In 2012, the UN General Assembly decided that March 21 is the International Day of Forests. On this day, the countries of the world are encouraged to launch initiatives aimed at protecting and restoring natural habitats - for example through tree planting campaigns. The theme for 2023 is “Healthy forest for healthy people”.
