Westpack + Pernille Corydon jewellery: Transparency in practice
21 octobre 2025
Committed and ambitious
For Pernille Corydon Jewellery, sustainability is an ongoing commitment. The Danish jewellery brand is known for Scandinavian simplicity, timeless design, and responsible practices. Packaging has become a central element in their ESG journey.
The company needed reliable documentation of the environmental impact of its packaging. At the same time, it was important to strengthen climate reporting and communication with customers. Westpack’s product declarations proved to be the right solution. Pernille Corydon Jewellery was among the first to use them and has combined this with sustainable material choices and an ambitious strategy for responsibility.
We spoke with Pia Wittendorf, Purchasing Buyer and CSR Manager at Pernille Corydon Jewellery, about the motivation behind these initiatives, the packaging journey, and the collaboration with Westpack.
A brand built on awareness and simplicity
Pernille Corydon’s jewellery is born of a passion for Scandinavian aesthetics and personal storytelling. “We strive to create jewellery with character and a sharp profile—but also with care,” explains Pia.
“The term sustainability can sometimes sound a bit hollow in the fashion industry. Nonetheless, it’s something we take seriously at Pernille Corydon Jewellery; it’s a high priority. We are constantly looking for new initiatives to help reduce our impact.”
Founded in Denmark in 2007, the company has since built a strong international profile, grounded in Scandinavian simplicity and responsible production.
Sustainability is not a static goal but a continuous process: “We’re always trying to improve through new initiatives that help minimise our impact,” says Pia, citing classic long-lasting design, responsible production, and a strong focus on packaging.
A three-pronged strategy
At Pernille Corydon, the ESG strategy focuses on three main elements: People, Product, and Planet. They are a member of the UN Global Compact and, in 2024, received RJC certification—a standard that documents efforts in the areas of human rights, the environment, and responsible business practices.
“We are deeply committed to integrating CSR into our daily work. In other words, we invest time, resources, and energy into becoming the most responsible version of ourselves. The CSR journey is one we take every single day—and everything counts.
We have developed a CSR Roadmap, and everything we do is rooted in the ambition for full transparency. That’s why it’s natural for us to seek documentation, for example, for our climate reporting—and that’s where packaging plays a key role,” Pia explains.
Eco sponge foam and product declarations: A perfect match
Jewellery boxes make up a significant part of Pernille Corydon’s packaging universe. For years, the company has been looking for a more sustainable alternative to traditional foam. “We’ve nudged Westpack—and especially Maja, our contact—many times. We kept thinking, surely there must be a solution. And then it happened!” says Pia with a smile.
The result was the introduction of eco sponge foam—a more environmentally friendly option, now used in the company’s FSC®-certified jewellery boxes. This is where the product declarations became a central tool:
“We’ve used the declarations actively in our climate accounting and EPR reporting. With this documentation in hand, we can now say our jewellery boxes are 100% recyclable—which is important in both our communications and ESG work.”

The product declarations are more than a formality—they are a practical tool in Pernille Corydon’s responsibility work. The documentation from Westpack provides clarity and data for the company’s climate accounting (scope 1–3) and serves as a foundation for future packaging improvements. “I’m sure the rest of the team will be just as excited about this as Maja and I are.”
Close collaboration as a driving force
The strong partnership with Westpack has been essential to achieving these ambitions. “We have a fantastic collaboration with Maja—she’s always prepared, quick to respond, and full of new ideas. That has really made a difference,” Pia concludes.
