At Westpack, we strive to run our business with consideration for sustainability. We have a clear ambition to minimize our carbon footprint and help aid the resources our company depends on — including the wood-based materials that many of our packaging solutions are made from. That’s why it is only natural for us to contribute to sustainable initiatives that promote the renewal and protection of the world’s forests.
Day of forests 2025
In connection with the UN’s International Day of Forests on March 21st, we once again marked the occasion with a special campaign: for one week, we donated two trees for every order placed on our web shop through our long-term partnership with the NGO OneTreePlanted. This campaign has become an annual tradition that creates value for both the environment and our customers, who, with each purchase, help make a difference.
This year’s campaign resulted in an impressive donation equivalent to 2,294 trees. This donation is not earmarked for any geographical region but will be planted where they are most urgently needed when the donation is made.
Reforestation in Indonesia Through New Partnership with Trees4Trees
Our daughter company Westpack Indonesia also continues to support reforestation. For years, we’ve proudly supported reforestation efforts through donations tied directly to our export volume from Indonesia. This year, we’re taking our pledge of responsibility to the local community a step further, by partnering with Trees4Trees, an Indonesian non-profit organization focused on community-based reforestation projects in Indonesia.
As part of this year’s initiative, we have donated 1,087 trees, equivalent to two trees for every container foot of goods shipped out of Indonesia. With this new partnership, we ensure that our donation directly supports reforestation in Indonesian regions where it is needed most.
Further to the carbon footprint noted above, the Indonesia’s forests are home to some of the planet’s most unique and endangered wildlife, including the Sumatran tiger, orangutan, and elephant. But these vital ecosystems face ongoing threats from deforestation. By planting trees, we help restore these critical habitats and support biodiversity conservation.
