Meet Hira: How Family Legacy and "Unboxing Magic" Built Hira Accessories

Hira Accessories Hero

Hira Accessories is a Germany-based jewellery brand with a heart that beats for tradition. Started by Hira, a mother of two, the journey began in a small room in her home. What was originally a way to earn a little extra income has since transformed into a meaningful brand built on 40 years of family history.

A Modern Take on a 40-Year Tradition

For Hira, jewellery isn't just about fashion; it’s a craft she was born into. As she explains:

"My family has been in the jewellery industry for over 40 years, mainly in wholesale. Growing up in this environment gave me both inspiration and a strong foundation. That’s why Hira Accessories is not just a brand to me, but a modern reflection of a long-standing legacy."

Her goal is to help every woman embrace her natural sense of aesthetics. To Hira, jewellery is a form of self-expression that adds a meaningful touch to everyday life, helping women feel both elegant and confident.

Why the "Unboxing" is the Secret Weapon

If you take a look at Hira’s Instagram, you’ll see why her community is so engaged. She has mastered the "Instagrammable" moment, especially through unboxing videos. Hira emphasises that the packaging is a crucial part of the product experience:

"When presenting carefully selected and valuable jewellery, I believe the packaging should reflect the same level of quality and care. Working with Westpack has truly elevated this experience, allowing me to communicate my brand’s quality even before the customer sees the product."

After experimenting with different styles, she found her signature look in the Boston series in a rich brown colour. She shares that this choice was no coincidence:

"I truly love the packaging. Right now, my absolute favourite colour is brown—I simply love it. It matches my brand’s aesthetic perfectly and creates a very elegant look."

The Turning Point: Leaving China for European Flexibility

One of the biggest challenges for Hira was the practical side of sourcing packaging. In the beginning, she followed the traditional path of ordering from China, but as a growing brand, the high minimums and long wait times became a bottleneck.

"Before working with Westpack, I used to source my packaging from China. However, the minimum order quantities—usually between 500–1000 units—were quite high, which made it financially challenging, and the delivery times were quite long," Hira recalls.

Switching to Westpack allowed her to run her business with much more agility. As she explains:

"After discovering Westpack, my entire process became much easier and more efficient. The flexibility in ordering and the faster delivery have made a huge difference in how I run my business."

Business Agility

Hira’s advice to other shop owners:

  • First impressions matter: The package is the first thing your customer touches. Don't just see packaging as a cost; see it as a way to show your customers straight away that they’ve bought something of high quality.
  • Try using video: Hira has seen firsthand that it works. As she says: "Unboxing videos are definitely one of the most engaging types of content. I’ve experienced this many times on my own page."
  • Keep your business flexible: Be careful about tying up all your money in huge stock levels or packaging from overseas that takes months to arrive. Look for partners that let you order smaller amounts so you can grow at your own pace.
  • Stay authentic: People like to know who they are buying from. Hira uses her family background and her own journey as a mother to keep the brand personal and real.
